Hotel Adalbert is located on the grounds of the Brevnov monastery, established in 993A.D. , one of the oldest benedictine monasteries in the Czech republic. The hotel is also conveniently close to the Prague castle which is one of the great historical landmarks of the city. The Hotel Adalbert is situated in an U shaped building, which is the torso of the former convent founded by the Abbot Tomas Sartorius in 1668. Sartorius convent documents the oldest building above ground in the area of the monastery, realised before its great reconstruction at the beginningof the 18th century. In 1737 the monastery was reconstructed according to the plans of Kilian Ignaz Dienzenhoffer as a monastery hospital and it acquired its present appearance after the demolition of the north wing. Since the beginning of the19th century the Sartorius Convent has served as the administrative building of the monastery and after 1950 the Ministry of interior used it for administrative purposes.A new stage in the life of this historically valuable building began with its recent reconstruction and transformation into a hotel, which bears the name of one of the founders of the Brevnov Monastery, Bishop Vojtech ( Adalbert ). A selection of teas is available to cater for all tastes and our coffee is freshly brewed just for you.For your convenience the breakfast rooms are open from 7am to 10.30am on week days and until 11am on weekends. The restaurant is located in the heart of the Brevnov monastery complex and gives you an ideal opportunity to have your meal in a quiet secluded atmosphere. The interior is rustic with a open fire which gives a relaxing atmosphere where you can dine on the finest of traditional Czech cuisine. The restaurant has a seating capacity of 85 and is suitable for all social events from a business lunch to an evening celebration. There is also the possibility to organise a tour of the monastery and surrounding areas. To further appreciate the unusual location of this restaurant why don’t you take a peaceful walk around the monastery gardens after your meal.
