The Hotel Bristol Stephanie was built in 1973 as an apart-hotel for long stays and was transformed into a « real » hotel in 1984 when it was bought by a British company. In 1987, the hotel was bought by an Irish company.
Finally, on the 8th of February 1995, the hotel was bought by the Norwegian hotel and real estate group : « The Olav Thon Group » who renovated the hotel totally. Since then, the hotel is regularly refurbished to keep its deluxe standards.
Since the 8th of February 1995, the 5 star Hotel Bristol Stephanie has belonged to the Norwegian hotel and real estate group "The Olav Thon Group".
This group was founded by Mr. Olav Thon and owns an hotel chain called « Thon Hotels » with mainly hotels in Norway but also one in Rotterdam and four in Brussels, amongst which the Hotel Bristol Stephanie. In Brussels, the group also owns two furnished apartment residences. Several independent hotels, important food & beverage houses and holiday villages are also part of the group as well as many real estate properties, shopping malls and factories.

The hotel possesses 142 bedrooms, the largest in Brussels, combining elegance with spacious comfort. Suites have been decorated in a traditional Norwegian style, including one with a private sauna. All rooms are equipped with air conditioning, tea & coffee making facilities, trouser-press, iron & ironing board, cable & satellite TV with an interactive system (Internet Acces and in-house video), minibar & telephones (with modem, voice-mail, fax plugs). The spacious bathrooms (separate toilet) are equipped with a hair-dryer and a telephone.
The « Stefany's » bar is situated on the ground floor of the hotel and is open every day from 11.00 h to 01.00 o'clock in the morning. Light meals and snacks are also available for lunch or dinner. Guests are also welcome for tea time. The Chef, Sebastien Lemmens (Delta de Bronze de la Gastronomie 2002), suggests a French innovative refined cuisine prepared from the best of fresh produce but also temporary culinary festivals and special events.
The Hotel Bristol Stephanie offers a large choice of conference and banqueting rooms of different sizes and capacities (from 2 to 400 people) and for all types of events with a full programme of meeting, banquet and cocktail packages, enhanced by the exquisite cuisine of our Chef, Sébastien Lemmens. The conference and banqueting rooms are within easy access to the guests, as they are located on the ground floor of the hotel. They are furnished with up-to-date technical and audiovisual equipment.
The fitness centre is open every day from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. without interruption. It is reserved for the residential guests only and is equipped with a wide range of material. It is situated on the – 3 basement level of the hotel. A sauna and a sun-bed are also at your disposal : the sauna is available from 6 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. and tokens for the sun-bed can be bought at Reception.
