The Pollera Hotel was founded in 1834 by Kasper Poller and since that time, for both the founder and his descendants, the development of the building has always been a priority, and as a consequence in the period between WW I and WW II it became one of the Cracow’s most famous hotels. The history of the hotel has had its ups and downs – during the WW II the hotel was captured by the Germans, then, after the liberation of Cracow it was made into the quarters of the Russian Army. After the war for a short period of time it was returned to its legitimate owner but in 1950 it was nationalized. When in 1990 it was finally restored to the owners it was run down and neglected , but after a major overhaul it again became one of the Cracow’s most elegant and charming hotels. The most prosperous period for the hotel are the times of The Art Nouveau – the famous stained glass windows by Stanisław Wyspiański on the staircase as well as the souvenirs displayed in the reception hall date back to that period. The décor of the interiors of the hotel combine the elements of Art Nouveau and modern standards. The hotel provides a lift, an internet access (?) and a parking area located in the yard of the hotel building. The Pollera Hotel is situated in the heart of the Old Town – it is only a few-minute walk from the Cracow’s Market Square. The hotel’s windows overlook The Juliusz Słowacki Theatre. Moreover, the hotel is located in the close neighborhood of railway and bus station. We offer our guests a choice of comfortable and stylish single, double and triple rooms. All our rooms have got a satellite TV, a radio, a telephone and an internet access. All our bedrooms have been designed to meet the expectations both of the tourists and the businessmen guests, and at the same time keep the Art Nouveau style. All our rooms have a choice of a desk or a table as well as bathroom with bath or a shower.
We have two luxurious, air-conditioned suites in The Pollera Hotel. In each suite there is a hall, a lounge and a bathroom with bath and a shower. The delightful Art Nouveau interiors have been arranged to allow the use of technical appliances but at the same time to retain the atmosphere of the previous epoch. All the suites have a satellite TV, a radio, a telephone, an internet access ,a fridge and a mini-bar.
The hotel restaurant “U Pollera” serves delicacies of Polish and European cuisine and is open from 7:00 till 22:30 every day. Guests can chose to dine in one of the three halls, each one of different size and interior design. The unique Art Nouveau Mirror Hall, which witnessed the famous grand balls organized by Wanda Poller at the beginning of the 20th century, still remains one of a few so spacious and smart restaurant halls in the city. We organize wedding receptions, banquets and any other occasional parties. The room service is also available.
Hotel Pollera offers a conference room which can accommodate up to 12 people. It is equipped with an overhead projector, a portable screen, a flip-chart board as well as curtains and blinds. The access to the internet is free of charge. Moreover, the direct connection with the reception hall allows to organize the breaks easily.
