The construction of the Hotel Rialto started in 2001 with the renovation of a classic turn of the century townhouse. Much of the buildings original features remain together with the addition of modern features expected of a modern deluxe hotel. The original construction walls and staircase remain from the original building. New foundations, three additional floors, elevator, roof and windows were added, all of which were of the highest standards of construction, design and quality. The hotel can also be seen as an intelligent building. Equipped with the very latest in safety, management and security systems. The project's conception was to create a modern hotel equipped with the latest technical solutions together with the spirit of the past and the luxury of a truly unique hotel.

20th century art was the search for new forms, meanings and definitions, an attempt to break from the 19th century tradition of copying and repeating the styles of the past. One hundred years ago the French Art Nouveau and the Austrian secezzion declared a breaking from the eclectic compilations of the past. This had the most powerful impact on the applied arts. They strove to create beautiful objects of the applied arts, with no compromise for cheap popularity and inferior quality. As a result some of the objects created 100 years ago survived through the decline of the Art Nouveau style and carried some of the newly defined values into the new époque - Art Déco.

A visit to our hotel will offer you a journey through the design arts of the beginning of the 20th century. Every single room has been designed in its very own unique style. Each one has been furnished with authentic pieces of furniture of the period 1900 - 1930. They are complemented with others, newly designed in the same period style, with every finishing detail selected with the utmost care to reflect the period character. The manufacturers producing the same, unchanged models and designs for the past one hundred years have supplied the period light fixtures. The upholstery was selected based on the preserved original samples of the period. Everything was manufactured by the best craftsmen in their field, using the highest quality materials - precious woods, stone, glass mosaics and nickel-plated brass.

Every room will surprise you with a different atmosphere. In each of them you will discover a different aspect of the applied arts of the beginning of the 20th century.

Room nr 13
This room is designed with a vivid fascination with distant lands.
One of the art-déco themes was a significant attention to different, exotic cultures. In the interiors of the period, along with the European design, appeared exotic sculptures and fabrics brought back from distant journeys. The simple, geometrical forms of the furniture have been set next to the furs of wild animals and colonial souvenirs.
In this room you will find original wall light fixture of the twenties, discovered in the antique shop in Paris, along with masks and little figurines from the Republic of South Africa. On the floor - there is an authentic zebra skin.
This room is cozy, comfortable and above the ordinary; it gives one a feeling of exotic excursion after a long day of doing business.

Room nr 27
This is one of the most chic and glamorous rooms. Geometrical patterns, overstated scale and satin fabrics, gives one sense of the Roaring Twenties in New York.
In this room you will find original set of furniture from the twenties with the characteristic geometrical motif and heavy base, shiny glass mosaics in the bathroom and lamps from the Paris workshop of Jean Perzel.
Even though we are in 21st Century Poland, strong character of this room makes you feel the ambiance of the 1920’s in New York – a few decades later, miles away. Do you wish to feel it either?

Room nr 47
Geometric patterns of the Vienna sezession soon appeared both in abstract art as well as in Art déco designs.
In this room you will find furniture designed by Josef Hoffmann and manufactured by Thonet of Vienna. The upholstery, designed in the Vienna Workshops, has been weaved by Backhousen, based on designs not altered for a century.
The original lamps were purchased at auction.

Room nr 58
Art-déco is a triumph of craftsmanship. It is an attempt to demonstrate the notion that a handicraft can create utility objects of an artistic value.
In this room you will find furniture of the English designer William Morris just besides French craftsmanship.
The armchairs are modeled after the designs of Emil - Jacques Ruhlmann, lamps come from the Parisian workshops of Jean Perzel.
The large natural stone panels of veined marble in the bathroom carry the characteristic of the period.
This room is an extraordinary fusion of English cottage style thanks to heavenly armchairs designed by Morris and French decorative art. Spacious, light, stylish – everything you need.

Room nr 65
This room is inspired by Belgium art-déco. Brussels, since the beginning of the 20th century, competed with France in contributing valuable input into the creation of the new style.
There, Josef Hoffmann, the creator of the Wiener Werkstatte, designed the residence Palais Stoclet, constituting the link between the Austrian secession and the Belgian art-déco.
In this room you will find a set of original furniture - armchairs and table of the mid twenties. The contemporary lamps have been designed by Adolf Loos of the Wiener Werkstatte and are set against the geometric patterns of the upholstery textiles.
Extremely simple in form and restrained with colors, yet very much appreciated by our Guests also thanks to a splendid view over the Palace of Culture and Science.

Weddings
The Rialto compiled a wedding offer for the most demanding young couples. It is an offer directed at those who are planning to spend those special moments in a somewhat narrower circle of family and friends. An increasing number of people are planning wedding dinner receptions as an alternative to the conventional large and lavish wedding receptions.
It is exactly for those couples planning a dinner reception instead of a traditional wedding and wishing to give the occasion a unique atmosphere that we have prepared an offer within the stylish interiors of the Rialto Hotel.

Chef of our restaurant will provide a feast of culinary delights during the wedding dinner reception. We have prepared 3 set dinner menus, all equally exquisite and exceptional. Each menu consists of a welcoming cocktail, hot and cold starter, soups and a main course. A traditional element on the wedding menu is of course the wedding cake.

The Rialto Hotel also provides the musical setting offering the accompaniment of a harp or a violin. Depending on the musical preferences of the Newly Weds, these unforgettable moments can be appreciated with the subtle tones of live background music.

After dinner, the guests of the Newly Weds can make the most of the Hotel’s hospitality and spend the night at the Rialto, particularly if they have travelled from afar.
After the special wedding dinner reception, the Newly Weds can enjoy the rest of their time alone, in the specially designed Newly Wed’s Suite.
With the Art Deco paintings of the known artist Tamara Lempicka adorning the walls of the Suite and surrounded by beautiful flower arrangements and bouquets, they can relax bathing in rose petals and take delight savouring the taste of strawberries and cream regardless of the time of year, sipping champagne. The following morning, the Newly Weds will be greeted with breakfast in bed and will receive a small memento from the Rialto Hotel that will be a lasting reminder of the magical moments of their Wedding Night. Such an unforgettable night is also a wonderful and original idea for a wedding present for the forthcoming Newly Weds from their family and friends.

Warsaw's Old Town
Although heavily destroyed during the Second World War, Warsaw’s Old Town has been painstakingly reconstructed to match the original, so much so that it was awarded a place on UNESCO’s World Heritage List in the 1980s. Today, the Old Town is a popular locale for tourists and residents, who flock to the quarter on summer nights to enjoy the area’s many architectural splendors and fashionable dining and nightlife options.

Castle Square
The Castle Square is the main gateway to the Old Town, and is the best place to start your sightseeing tour of historic Warsaw. All of the square’s 17th and 18th century buildings were completely rebuilt following their destruction in World War II. In the middle of the square, you’ll find the Monument to Sigismund III Vasa, who is responsible for moving the Polish capital from Krakow to Warsaw.

Royal Castle
You’ll find this massive 13th century castle on the Castle Square. It developed over the centuries as succeeding Polish monarchs added new wings and refurbished the interior. The Castle was completely destroyed in the Second World War, but rebuilt to capture its former glory between 1971 and 1984. Tour the castle interior, with its grandiose King’s Apartments and Art Gallery.

Old Town Square
The heart of the Old Town, Warsaw’s Old Town Square, is lined by a striking collection of old burgher houses featuring intricate details on the façades. The Square is particularly popular with Warsaw’s many street artists – you can witness a colorful collection of acts here, ranging from bizarre street musicians to human statues. Among the plethora of architectural wonders you can see here is one of the narrowest houses in the world, at ul. Kanonia 20/22.

Lazienki Park
Lazienki is a large, shady, popular park where half of Warsaw comes on Sundays for the traditional family stroll. Poland’s last king, Stanislaw August Poniatowski, used to spend his summers in the park’s ornate 18th century Palace upon the Water. Although the Nazis laid plenty of dynamite in an attempt to destroy the buildings, the Palace managed to survive the attacks. The park was once a royal hunting ground attached to nearby Ujazdów Castle, today the Museum of Modern Art. The park’s Old Orangery contains a sculpture gallery and a theater. Other interesting landmarks include an Art Deco Chopin Monument dating from 1926. Every summer between noon and 4pm, piano recitals are given in the rose gardens.

Warsaw Rising Museum
This stunning museum was opened 31 July 2004. Packed with interactive displays, photographs, video footage and miscellaneous displays this is guaranteed to leave a deep mark on all visitors. Occupying a former tramway power station the 2,000m2 space is split in three levels and takes leads visitors through the complete story of the uprising. Life under Nazi rule is covered through a series of slides, and a section of the ground floor is dedicated to the children who served as both messengers and soldiers. The rattle of machine guns, Stukka dive bombers and heart beats are played over the speakers, adding to the ominous atmosphere. Different halls focus on the many aspects of the Uprising; a replica of an insurgents radio station has been built, while other sections document the massacre in Wola, allied airdrops and the role of medical units. On the mezzanine level a cinema screen plays a ten minute film detailing the first month of the battle, after which the museums route takes visitors through a mock sewer. The final section features a section devoted to the Soviet creation of ‘Lublin Poland’, a hall of remembrance for the fallen and a display entitled ‘Death of the City’; a haunting epitath to the destruction of Warsaw in which silent films project before and after shots of city landmarks.

Palace of Culture & Science
A visit to Warsaw isn’t complete without a tour of the city’s most visible landmark – which some call the city’s biggest eyesore. Standing at over 231 meters in height, the Palace of Culture and Science is the largest structure in Poland. Commissioned by Stalin as a “gift from the Soviet people,” construction on the building began in 1952 and was finished after three years of brutal round-the-clock labor. Originally meant to serve as the Communist Party Headquarters, today the Palace houses museums, restaurants, theaters, conference halls, offices, and more. The Palace’s Congress Hall is large enough to fit over 3,000 people. It is here that the Rolling Stones performed in 1967, becoming one of the first Western bands to perform before an Eastern Bloc audience. Urban legend has it that the Palace’s basement is now populated with hundreds of wild cats, who take care of the building’s army of rodents. For a stunning panoramic view over Warsaw, let the Palace’s lightning-quick elevators whisk you up to the 30th floor observation terrace. Poles like to joke that it’s the best view of Warsaw because it’s the only place where you can’t see the Palace itself!

Wilanow Park
This beautiful park is situated about 6km southeast of Lazienki and boasts the awe-inspiring Wilanow Palace, where King Jan III Sobieski, who defeated the Turks at Vienna in 1683, used to spend his summers. While the “Polish Versailles” was subjected to vicious attacks during the War, it has survived over the years and re-emerged as arguably the finest palace in all of Poland, packed to the rafters with priceless works of art and ornate gilding. There is an immense portrait gallery, which serves as a “Who’s Who” of Polish patriots and royalty. Behind the Palace, you’ll find an art gallery inside the Orangery, as well as a Poster Museum, which is a prime spot for seeing some of Poland’s famous poster art. The landscaped gardens come replete with pillars, statues, and decorative flowerbeds, and should charm the most cynical visitor to Warsaw.
