Description and facilities
Figuratively and literally offering top accomodation. House Glory is the perfect place for a quiet or exciting holiday, whatever the season. Moreover, the main house can very well accommodate group activities, seminars and courses, its five public rooms suitable for as many as 50 people.

Glory House was built at the beginning of the 20th century as a summer home for a rich family. The architectural style of the building originates from the famous "AmsterdamseSchool"(School of amsterdam), which drew her inspiration from mideval castles. The watchtower has always played an important role in the middle ages, which is why they decided to built one as part of this building. The original watchtower was not as high as it is now, it has been elevated in the second world war. Part of the original interior has been preserved; the stairs are decorated with beautiful wood carvings, leaded glass windows, mosaic floors and other decorations can still be visited.

In times like these where "time is money", the need for quiet increases. One sometimesfeels the need for a haven of serenity and tranquility in this world with a hectic every-day-life. Glory House provides this haven. It boasts with well appointed rooms and appartments. Of great interest to lovers of architecture, this historical building sits on the summit of the highest dunehill in Bergen aan Zee, in its own grounds, which include gardens and freely accessible pine woods. Within easy walking distance lie some shops and restaurants, wide endless beaches and the sea, safe for swimming, surfing and sailing. You can visit the sea aquarium and walk or cycle in the local nature reserve, delighting in the pheasants, rabbits, sqirrels, foxes and numerous other birds and animals that make their home in this varied landscape. And don't forget to visit the famous dutch Tulip Fields of which most of them are in North-Holland. A few kilometres away lies the small and characteristic town Bergen, which is nationally famous for its artists, cultural festivals and markets. The nearest city is Alkmaar (14 kilometres away), which has some 400 monuments, fascinating museums, fashionable shops and restaurants. In the summer one can still visit the centuries old cheesemarket.

Also for children there is plenty to see and do. Besides the already mentioned woods and beaches, there is a tropical swimming pool with special features and small funfair in Egmond aan Zee. In Bergen aan Zee there is also a small park named "Parnassia Park", where different animals can be observed and where children can play on the playgrounds.

Further afield are the historical towns Hoorn and Enkhuizen, with its open air museum and "fairytale" park. Of course Amsterdam should not be forgotten. This city is surely worth visiting. With plenty of museums, churches, restaurants, shops, galaries, parks, squares filled with terraces, all different kinds of people with all different kinds of cultural backgrounds, markets and the characteristical canals with beautiful canal houses along each side, one can say that all this surely contributes to a unique atmosphere.
