Manager Renate Klaver is very enthusiastic about the Health Club’s latest addition. “It is a unique exercise wall, where the individual determines the movement’s centre instead of the equipment. It’s three-dimensional, so it’s not only possible to move up and down or back and forth, but also to combine all movements at the same time. For example, you can turn around and practice tennis strokes or golf swings. In addition, all movement is met with resistance and a far greater range of exercises is possible. It’s more natural, so it’s also more functional.”

Ciel Bleu Restaurant The French Ciel Bleu Restaurant on the 23rd floor of Hotel Okura Amsterdam recently opened its doors again, after large-scale renovations.
Well-known architect Bert Verweij has created a restaurant where every place offers a breathtaking view of Amsterdam. As a result of the renovation and the use of plenty of glass and various shades of brown, the Ciel Bleu Restaurant has acquired a more luxurious, warm and modern atmosphere. This atmosphere matches the preparation and presentation of the dishes by Star chef Onno Kokmeijer’s unique take on French Cuisine.
The unique take on tradition that informs our cuisine is also evident in the wine list. In addition to a selection of choice classics from major wine regions, sommelier Noël Vanwittenbergh has come up with a wide range of innovative wines, especially from up-and-coming wine estates in the New World. The restaurant has three exceptional venues for closed private or business functions – the Starlight Room, the Salon Panoramique and the Chef’s Table.

Authentic Kaiseki Cuisine On the ground floor of the hotel you will find the Okura’s traditional Japanese restaurant Yamazato, a famous place for enjoying authentic Japanese cuisine where more than fifty Japanese specialities are on offer. The Yamazato Restaurant has an authentic, Sukiya-style interior, inspired on the Zen Buddhism from the heyday of the ceremonial houses in the 15th and 16th centuries. The atmosphere is made complete by the Japanese garden right next to the Yamazato Restaurant. You are also welcome to take a seat at the Sushi Bar and for private occasions one of our four private rooms will be at your disposal. For the Japanese breakfast reservations must be made in advance. Teppanyaki Restaurant Sazanka Japanese Cuisine On the hotel’s ground floor you will find the Okura’s Teppanyaki Restaurant Sazanka. Teppanyaki literally means ’to grill on a hot plate’, which is traditionally the oldest way of preparing food in Japan. In Japan this kind of dining is very popular, in part because the chef prepares the most delicious dishes right before guests’ eyes. Various kinds of fish and meat, including the very exclusive Wagyu beef, are prepared à la minute with ’’Japanese precision’. The Teppanyaki Restaurant Sazanka’s interior is in a contemporary Japanese style, the design of which is based on stone, wood, water and fire. These elements reflect the prominent role nature plays in Japanese daily life. The eleven teppanyaki hot plates will seat seven to ten guests each and are perfect for both business and festive occasions. It is also possible to reserve a private room with two hot plates, offering room to a maximum of 18 guests. Private lunches for at least ten guests are available on request.
Le Camelia Brasserie Seasonal dishes from around the world On the hotel’s ground floor you will find the Okura’’s Brasserie Le Camelia, named after a beautiful, delicious fragrant exotic flower - the camelia. The restaurant’s interior exudes the atmosphere of an Art Deco-style Parisian ’brasserie’ , making it an attractive meeting place for all kinds of colourful people, from convention attendees to relaxing shoppers. In addition to the lavish daily breakfast buffet Le Camelia’s kitchen offers a selection of international dishes and a set menu based on seasonal products. TWENTY THIRD On the 23rd floor of Hotel Okura Amsterdam a new bar has opened. Twenty Third owes its name to its location, which offers an unparalleled view over virtually all of Amsterdam. In this stylish bar a wide range of cocktails is served and the drinks list offers an extensive selection of wines as well as 17 different champagnes, six of which are also available per glass. All drinks were selected especially for Twenty Third by sommelier Noël Vanwittenbergh and bar manager Marc Wüst. In addition to this great variety of drinks the bar offers various delicacies, such as caviar and oysters, which are prepared in the kitchen of the Michelin Star-awarded Ciel Bleu restaurant next door.
Twenty Third was designed by the architectural firm of Bert Verwey. The bar’s ceiling is provided with small crystal lighting fixtures. A prominent feature are the large windows with benches, which give the bar a lounge-like atmosphere. Thanks to the combination of special drinks, exclusive snacks, its interior design and a breathtaking view Twenty Third is unique in Amsterdam.
