Valmiera is the largest city in Vidzeme (region in North-East Latvia). It is located on the crossroads of several important roads 107 km from Riga, 34 km from Cesis and 50 km from Estonia border. The city is tidy and blooming, it is divided in two parts by one of Latvia`s most beautiful rivers - River Gauja. The enterpreneurship is developed in Valmiera, several companies well known in Latvia and abroad are located here. It is possible to get the higher education in Valmiera, because Vidzeme University college was founded in 1996. Each year Valmiera hosts the rock festival (in June), town festival (in July) and “Simjuds” medieval fair (in October).
