The Mespil has a variety of bedrooms to ensure all guests needs are fully catered for.  To accommodate individual requirements we offer smoking and non-smoking rooms and a number of rooms have been specially adapted to cater for guests with special needs. Single, twin, double and double/single rooms are available and can be booked on line at any time.  One additional feature at the Mespil Hotel is that many rooms contain a double bed and a single bed, offering great space and comfort in the heart of Dublin city. Family rooms are bright and stylish offering a double bed, single bed and pull out sofa bed.  Should a family require more space and privacy inter-connecting rooms can be requested. All rooms can easily accommodate an extra cot. To start the day off correctly why not enjoy a full Irish breakfast or healthy continental breakfast in the Glaze Bistro.  Morning coffee is served in the Terrace Bar. If you are looking for variety at lunch time, enjoy the great selection from the Carvery Lunch Menu in the Terrace Bar.  If you require something lighter enjoy a freshly made sandwich or wrap made to order from the Sandwich Bar in the Glaze Bistro. For dinner you can relax and dine with imaginative dishes by evening glimmer and gaze through the 'Glaze' at the passing canal waters from the Glaze Bistro.

Glaze Restaurant
With tranquil views of the Grand Canal, the Glaze Bistro presents a smart setting in the heart of Dublin, offering a modern and creative bistro style menu. A unique blend of International and Irish influences, combined with fresh local produce, complements a healthy and exciting menu to suit all palates and preferences. With warm and stylish décor combined with friendly service in a relaxed atmosphere the Glaze Bistro is a popular choice among locals and visitors for a romantic dinner, a small dinner party, a celebration dinner or dinner with friends.

Start the day off on the right note with a hearty full Irish breakfast or a healthy continental breakfast from the well stocked buffet each morning.

Lunch: Monday – Friday: 12.30 – 14.30
Enjoy freshly made sandwiches, deep filled baps and healthy wraps made to order from our Sandwich Bar or choose a tasty panini and homemade ‘Soup of the Day’ from our Daily Menu.

Relax and unwind in the Glaze Bistro and savour the tastes and flavours of our dinner menu which is perfectly complimented with many fine wines from around the Globe.   Satisfy your taste buds with an array of creative dishes from succulent steaks, to stir fried dishes to moules marnier all at affordable prices.  Weekly Specials are carefully chosen by our Head Chef which adds some interesting alternatives and good old favourites to the menu.  Special dietary requests are catered for at all times.

Terrace Bar
The Terrace Bar at the Mespil Hotel is the ideal location to meet colleagues and friends for a business meeting, a friendly chat or to enjoy some delicious dishes from our extensive Carvery Lunch Menu.  Relax in the pleasant and comfortable surroundings of the Terrace Bar and indulge yourself with a specialty coffee and dessert in the afternoon or treat yourself to a tasty shack from our Bar Menu.  The Terrace Bar is the perfect retreat after a busy day in hustle and bustle of Dublin city.

1. Shop 'til you Drop
The Mespil Hotel is just a short walk from Grafton Street and St Stephen’s Green – which offers a wonderful array of products ranging from the traditional to the more contemporary. You can easily explore on foot the central shopping area from Stephens Green / Grafton Street and across the river to Henry Street and O’Connell Street. You will also fine many extensive shopping centres throughout the city and Dundrum Town Centre is easily reached by taking the Luas (light rail system), which is located close to the Mespil Hotel.

2. Visit the Home of Guinness
Visit the Guinness Storehouse and follow the dramatic history of Guinness which began 250 years ago and watch as this icon of Irish culture unfolds before your eyes.  Experience the brewing process and learn to taste Guinness for yourself.

3. Discover Dublin
Discover more of Dublin city on one of the hop-on-hop-off bus tours which have been designed to give you the freedom to explore and experience the history and culture of Dublin at your leisure.   You can join a tour from outside the hotel.  If you prefer to discover the city for yourself, download an iWalk from www.visitdublin.ie to your MP3 player and take things at your own pace.  If you don’t want to download a walk why not try the ‘Rock & Stroll’ self-guided tour that stops at the many significant sites associated with Dublin’s world famous musicians, rock group and pop artists

4. Go to the Zoo
"Meet the Keeper" and learn about the many rare and endangered species that live in Dublin Zoo. 5. Sample some Art
Located on the west side of Merrion Square the National Gallery of Ireland houses the national collection of Irish Art and European master paintings.  Admission to the permanent collection is free.

6. Visit a Castle
Step back in time and visit Dublin Castle in the heart of historic Dublin.  Dublin gets is name from the Dubh Linn or Black Pool which stood on the site of the present Castle Gardens.  The ornate 18th Century State Apartments now hosts important State functions, including Presidential inaugurations.

7. Sample the Culture
Located in the heart of the city, Trinity College is one of Ireland’s historical sites, attracting over half a million visitors each year.  It is the oldest university in Ireland and has over 40 acres of cobbled squares and green spaces.  The Book of Kells is a 9th Century manuscript of the gospels renowned worldwide for its rich and varied illustrations.  It is on display in the Old Library in Trinity College.

8. Canal Stroll & Literary Ireland
Where our famous poet Patrick Kavanagh gleaned much of his inspiration the Grand Canal offers a peaceful retreat from city life - his seat remains intact outside the Mespil so have a rest and who knows what piece of literary genius might inspire you!  The Irish literary tradition is one of the most illustrious in the world, famous for four Nobel prize winners and for many other writers of international renown.  A visit to the Dublin Writers Museum is well worth a visit and a special room is devoted to children’s literature.

9. Viking Splash
Be a Viking for the day and let the Viking guides tell you about the city centre sights and they might even teach you the Viking Roar! See Dublin by land and water in reconditioned World War II vintage amphibious military vehicles.  An adventure for all the family.
